Virologica are a contract testing laboratory offering a wide range of standard and customized microbiological testing services. We specialise in virology but are equally experienced and equipped for bacteriology and biocompatibility testing too. Dr. Jennifer Carney
Microbiology Manager
Jenny has a PhD in Virology and BSc (Hons) in Microbiology. She has many years’ experience in the microbiological testing industry and has a broad skill set in virology, bacteriology and biocompatibility testing. Following her PhD, Jenny joined Novartis Vaccines to develop a rapid test method for the detection of mycoplasma in seed virus for influenza vaccine manufacture. From here she took on an R&D role at an SME working on bacteriophage therapy before joining a contract testing laboratory as a senior microbiologist where she established the companies’ viral testing capabilities. Jenny now heads our microbiology team here at Virologica, working closely with clients from the biocide, medical device, wound care, pharmaceutical and cosmetics sectors.
